One of our friends took his Restless board on an epic trip to El Salvador, here is what he had to say.
El Salvador is mostly known for its world renowned surf spots. Some Quebecers opened a hostel in El Zonte called El Dorado. I went there for two weeks with a friend of mine. Our trip was more a surf trip, but one day when the surf wasn’t good, we decided to hit the road that follows the coast line across the country with our longboards. The El Dorado Hostel offers a towing service. You pay a driver a couple of dollars to bring you to the inclined parts of the road. As you ride down the road, the driver follows you protecting you from incoming cars. When you reach the flat, you can get in the back of the truck and they will take you up to the next inclined. Sometimes you go down without having to push for over 3 km in a row. That day we cruised for over 15 Km with very few stops in the truck. Just amazing!
Oh yeah, one other thing, it’s really easy to gain speed and lose control out there. There are also cars and trucks coming in the opposite direction so you have be sharp on your board. There’s a nice picture of what happened to my friend trying to slow down after gaining too much speed.. !
Special thanks to the Restless crew!! Their boards are amazing!
