Ste-Marie de Beauce Contest - 12th of June 2010

Restless was present at the longboard and street luge competition in Ste-Marie de Beauce, organized by N.G.S.C. On the menu: carving, sliding, downhill, luge and a big air to top it off. The weather channel was forecasting a bit of rain, but instead we've got a beautiful sunny day. The riders, including 3 of our team: Flavien Vidal, Marc Séguin and Étienne, gave us a really good show! We also have to mention the flawless organization. The run was very well done and the animation was entertaining. Fred looked like he had a lot of fun running the whole thing from the top of his 4x4!

Marc and Étienne had the chance to try our new sliding prototype in a competition. Étienne also tried the BigBoy mounted on the Zombies 83a wheels in stand-up slides with great success. Flavien tested his new pro-model (nicknamed "The Flav" for now), mounted on his new $400 Aera trucks at every opportunity he got. Between 2 slide runs, we could see Flavien going down the run with a little more audacity every time. Even with all this practice, he succeeded in crashing twice during the actual competition. We have to say that at that point, his wheels were so used up they didn't stick so much anymore...

The street luge then took to the run. Restless succeeded in making a luge completely out of wood in time for the event and Flavien did a good job with it even with his pushing handicap. The cherry on top for the day was the big air. Now here, you have to give credit to Flavien. He had the courage (or the stupidity, some would say) to try the big air on a luge. The riders had 3 jumps and the longest jump won. On his 1st try, Flavien nose dive a little but landed pretty well nonetheless. On the 2nd try he did better but the 3rd try was just awesome. He flew with the luge to a jump of 22 feet. To give you an idea, the longest longboard jump was 12 or 14 feet I think.

The night continued after at the Festival sportif de Ste-Marie but unfortunately I had to leave. Before leaving, I gave a few board and accessories to give as prizes in the name of Restless. So a big thanks to Fred from Street Missile for the organization of the event. We had an amazing day and we'll definitely be there again next year!
